FAQS

• I feel awkward and uncomfortable having my photo taken. How can you help with that?

This is a very normal feeling when having your photo taken. Heck, I feel that way when I’m being photographed. Knowing how it feels to be a bit awkward in front of a camera, it’s my passion to make you look and feel natural. I typically start our shoots off with some walking and interaction to help loosen you up. Once I feel like you’ve relaxed we’ll roll into the fun stuff!

• Can we have all of the photos taken? Can we have the RAW images?

Unfortunately I will never include ALL or RAW photos. I carefully sift through each photo from our shoot and hand pick out the very best images to then edit and bring them to their full potential. I don’t include RAW images because I don’t want the photos I’ve taken floating around the universe not finished by ME. It’s like allowing another person to finish a painter’s oil painting, if you will.

• I’m worried about coordinating outfits. Can you help?

If you need help deciding what you will wear for your session, please feel free to send me photos. I would be happy to guide you!

I like to warn my clients about heavily patterned pieces and neons/bright colors such as hot pink. Since we will likely be shooting in a natural outdoor setting, neutrals typically work best. I would also avoid a suit and tie or formal dresses as you will likely be chasing your kids around a field, tickling them, and tossing them in the air. Basically a full body workout!

• I think it might be too dark in my home, will you have enough light?

Sometimes homes are a bit too dark to get that natural light feel. If you’re worried about this, please feel free to send me videos and photos of the spaces you want to shoot in your home so we can make a choice on location! If I do feel your home is too dark, we can either try and shoot in the rooms that have a bit more light or rent a studio!

• How would you describe your work?

I like to describe my photography style as mostly free-spirited with some necessary direction. I will guide you in a way that’s natural and brings out your own personalities. My goal for you is live presently in the moment and embrace the REAL that comes with a wedding day or having family photos taken.

• Do you send sneak peeks?

I send 50-100 sneak peeks for weddings a few days after your event. I don’t include sneak peeks with session since the turnaround time is only 2 weeks.

• Do you require a deposit?

I require a $50 retainer for sessions and 50% of the total retainer for weddings in order to officially reserve your date.

• How long is a session?

I offer 30 minute - 1.5 hour session. If you book a newborn session I require a minimum of 1 hour booked.
